About the game

Axie Infinity is a play-to-earn game set in a universe where players own pets called Axies. The game was developed by Vietnamese studio Sky Mavis which also developed Axie's Ethereum-linked sidechain Ronin Network. The game's alpha was initially released in December 2019. The latest version, Axie Infinity: Origin (version 3), was launched in April 2022. Combining the elements of CryptoKitties with the gameplay of Pokémon and Neopets, Axie Infinity uses a real-time card battle system where players can choose between player-vs-environment (PvE) and player-vs-player (PvP) modes while piloting a team of 3 Axies. Winners are rewarded in the game's tokens, $SLP and $AXS. Aside from battling, players can also breed, collect, raise, and build kingdoms for their pets.
