WonderHero Guide: How to Play the Game for New Players

Get the most out of your WonderHero experience! Our guide covers everything you need to know to set up, equip, upgrade, and battle with Heroes.

Before being able to dive into the different game modes, there are tasks you need to accomplish. Read on to learn how to equip your Heroes with NFTs, set up your line ups, level up your Heroes, and eventually, enhance and modify your Heroes and NFTs. You will also learn about PvE and PvP modes.
How do I equip Heroes with NFTs?#Copy URL to this article section
WonderHero is a play-to-earn game. Exciting, right? You get to earn while having fun. However, you are going to need NFTs in order to start playing. Before starting your battles, you need to equip your Heroes with NFTs such as Skins and Weapons. You can also add Equipment for additional stats.
First, you should know which Weapons and Skins you have. If you do not know yet, you can check your NFTs by clicking “Warehouse” at the bottom right of the screen. Here, you will be shown four tabs: Item, Weapon, Skin, Equipment.

In the Weapon tab, click on the item to see the name and photo of the Hero it is for. Do the same for Skin.
Now that you know which Heroes you can play, it is time to equip them with the Weapons and Skins. To do this, click “Hero” on your welcome screen.

Then, choose a Hero from the options at the bottom of the screen. The available NFT will be shown on the screen. Click on the outlined weapon. A screen will appear showing the available Weapons. Choose one of those and click “Equip” at the bottom.

Now, it’s time to equip your Hero with a Skin. To do this, click on the empty box under “Skin” at the top right portion of the screen. A screen will appear showing the available Skins. Choose one of those and click “Equip” at the bottom.

You may also equip your Hero with other Items such as Accessory, Battlesuit, and Badge (found at the bottom of the screen).

Now that your Heroes have been equipped with Weapons and Skins, you can start playing the game’s Adventure mode! In order to get ready for battle, you need to decide on your lineup. After that, you can start with PvE Battles and win Chapter Rewards.

Setting your Hero lineup is required before being able to go through these PvE Battles and start clearing stages by defeating enemies.
You can do this by clicking on the “Battle” button.

You will be shown a screen with four Heroes. Click on “Team Lineup” at the bottom left of the screen.

To remove the Heroes that were placed on your lineup by default, simply click on each one of them. Afterwards, you can choose the Heroes that you have equipped with Weapons and Skins. Their stats will be shown once you choose them.
When you have already chosen at least 3 Heroes, click on the “Team Lineup” button at the top left corner of your screen.

After setting up your line up, you are now ready to Battle! From the welcome screen, click on “Battle” to start the game.

PvE Battles are where most of the $HON earnings in WonderHero come from. In Battle mode, you will go through the story of WonderHero split into Chapters. The Chapters show the average $HON drop of a battle if you get lucky, as shown in the image below.

During your turn, you need to move your Heroes around the Battlefield so that they can attack your opponents or support their ally Heroes. You can familiarize yourself with the actions of each Hero’s Weapon and Skin in order to come up with a strategy that works best for you (e.g. Your tank should be within range).
Stars can be gained by checking out the Challenge Details on the right side of the screen.

Chapter Rewards can be claimed once a player reaches the required number of Stars for them. These rewards range from Potions and Energies to Equipment Chests.

Before you can start playing the game's PvP mode, you need to set up your defense lineup. This is different from the lineup that you have already set for PvE mode.

In order to join PvP battles, a player must first achieve Level 6. Once they accomplish this, they can set a defense lineup of at least 4 Heroes.
To do this, you can click on “PVP Arena” on the welcome screen.

First, you will be asked to prepare your defense lineup of at least 4 Heroes.
To remove the Heroes that were placed on your lineup by default, simply click on each one of them. Afterwards, you can choose the Heroes that you have equipped with Weapons and Skins. Their stats will be shown once you choose them.
When you have already chosen all 4 Heroes, click on the “Team Lineup” button at the top left corner of your screen. Then, click on the “Save as Defense” button to save the lineup you have picked and click “Confirm.”
After setting your lineup you can now match with other players by clicking “Join Arena." A player gets 5 challenge chances everyday, which can be accumulated up to a maximum of 35 challenge chances every Sunday. The challenge chances reset every Monday at 12:00 AM GMT.

In PvP Battle, you will need to compete against other players in order to rank up and get rewards. Before a player can go to PvP Battle, they must be at least level 6 and have at least 4 playable heroes. You will be included in a group of 30 players and fight them to have points, enabling you to rank up and get PvP weekly rewards.

How do I upgrade my NFTs?#Copy URL to this article section
Upgrading your NFTs can improve your chances to clear Chapters in PvE and win battles in PVP. There are 3 ways to upgrade your NFTs: Enhancing your Heroes, Enhancing and Modifying your NFTs, and Refining your NFTs.

Heroes are Enhanced by using XP potions. Once you Enhance your Heroes, their level will increase, which gives them bonus stats. In this way, you can take on stronger opponents in the PvE and PvP Battle modes.
XP potions can be gained by claiming in daily quest, clearing PvE Stages, and completing Chapter Rewards. Once you have enough XP potions, you can click on “Hero," then go to the Enhance Tab and select the type of XP potions you want to use and click “Confirm."
Enhancing your WonderHero NFTs

While all NFTs can be Enhanced, only Weapons can be Modified. In order to enhance NFTs, you will need a $WND token and $HON token. These can be obtained through completing daily and weekly quests, participating in PvP Arena and acquiring them randomly in PvE battles.
If you want to modify a weapon, you can click on the particular weapon that you want to modify and click “Modify”. This requires $HON for the first few levels, and both $WND and $HON for the higher levels.

In addition to Modification and Enhancement, there is now NFT Refinement. You can reroll your stats, lock the stats you wish to keep, and activate new NFT stats attributes. Take note that the Refinement function can only be done if the NFT is 4 stars and above.
NFTs have Stats values that are classified according to colors based on their quality. Here are the colors arranged from the lowest to the highest value:
1. Common Attribute - White 2. Uncommon Attribute - Blue 3. Rare Attribute - Purple 4. Epic Attribute - Orange
If you want to do Refinement on your NFTs, you’ll be needing one or more of these 3 Refinement items from the Store:

Adv. Refinement Chip | 1 $WND | Needed to lock in the NFT Stats that you wish to keep while you reroll the other Stats |
Augment Plugin | 5 $WND | Needed to activate a new NFT Stats Attribute as long as requirements are met (i.e. minimum NFT enhancement level + number of purple attributes required) |

Meanwhile, if you wish to change some NFT Stats while keeping one or more, you will need both a Refinement Chip and an Adv. Refinement Chip. The more Stats you wish to lock, the more Chips you’ll be needing. Here’s a video showing how to use an Adv. Refinement Chip:
Since the process is randomized, the outcome of the roll is not guaranteed. For instance, you could get better Stats (e.g. from Attack 40 to Attack 70), or even a new Stats type (e.g. from Attack to Crit Dmg). Remember that if you roll but decide not to commit to your new Stats and just stick to the old one, the Refinement Chips will still be considered spent and will not be refunded.

Pro Tip: As an unspoken/unwritten rule, you will get at least a Purple Stat after around 10-13 rerolls. If you keep rerolling and you do not get any purple or higher Stats, it might be a bug, and you can report this to support.
